- Calgary & Alberta Payroll — CPA-Overseen, Fully Managed
Payroll Off Your Plate. People Paid Right, On Time
Accurate pay runs, source deductions remitted on schedule, and the year-end paperwork handled — so payroll stops being a weekly job you have to chase
Radiant Skies runs your payroll on QuickBooks® Online Payroll and keeps it accurate, current, and onside with the CRA:
- Your people, paid right and on time — consistent pay runs, no chasing.
- Source deductions, remitted on schedule — CPP, EI, and income tax to the CRA when they are due.
- Year-end, handled — T4s, ROEs, and the paperwork filed where each needs to go.
So the administrative weight comes off your shoulders, and payroll gets handled — for owner-managed businesses across Calgary and Alberta.

Where Payroll Quietly Goes Wrong
As a business grows, running payroll by spreadsheet or across disconnected tools gets risky — and most of the trouble shows up in the same four places:
- The remittance you find out about too late. A missed or miscalculated source-deduction deadline is one you often learn about when the CRA penalty arrives — and it grows the longer it sits.
- The compliance you cannot easily prove. Alberta’s rules on holiday pay, overtime, and termination need records that hold up — and a spreadsheet rarely does when it matters.
- The hours that disappear into admin. Onboarding hires, tracking vacation pay, issuing Records of Employment — each one pulls you off the business to handle paperwork.
- The job costs you cannot see. When payroll is not tied to your jobs, you are billing without knowing your real labour cost on each one — losing money on some, straining trust on others.

How We Run Your Payroll:
We replace the manual back-and-forth with a managed payroll process on QuickBooks® Online Payroll, overseen by a CPA. Here’s what that covers:
| Core Payroll Function | What We Do | What It Means for You |
| Source Deductions | Calculate, reconcile, and remit CPP, EI, and income tax to the CRA on your schedule. | Deadlines met, so a penalty letter is not how you find out. |
| Pay Cycle Administration | Direct deposits, vacation-pay tracking, and TD1 for new hires. | Your people paid right and on time, with fewer payroll questions coming back to you. |
| Job-Costing Integration | Map labour to specific customers, jobs, or projects so each hour lands in the right place. | Accurate labour costs tied to each job, so you bill from real numbers. |
| Year-End & Compliance | Prepare and file T4s and T4As, issue ROEs, and assemble your WCB Alberta premium return. | Year-end filings done and on time, with no year-end scramble. |

Is payroll separate from my bookkeeping?
You take only the capabilities your business needs. Payroll can run on its own — your team paid on time and your CRA obligations met accurately — if you already have your bookkeeping under control. Or it can run alongside your bookkeeping, accounting, and corporate tax as a single ongoing engagement, so your payroll, books, and filings sit in one secure cloud environment and line up through the year. Which path fits depends on where your business is, and we sort that out in the first discussion. See our How We Work page.
Can you take over payroll partway through the year?
Yes — and mid-year is more common than you would think. We bring across your year-to-date totals for each employee — wages paid, source deductions remitted, vacation accrued — so nothing resets when we take over. That continuity is what keeps your remittances accurate for the rest of the year and your T4s correct at year-end, with no double-counting or gaps in the transition.
How are bonuses, taxable benefits, and vacation pay handled?
These are where payroll mistakes tend to hide. Bonuses and taxable benefits change the source deductions owed, vacation pay accrues under Alberta’s employment-standards rules, and getting any of them wrong tends to surface later as a remittance shortfall or a T4 correction. We calculate each correctly as part of the regular run, so they are reflected in deductions and year-end slips without a scramble.
What happens when an employee leaves?
We prepare and issue the Record of Employment (ROE) within the required timeframe, so the employee’s EI claim is not held up — and we make sure their final pay, including any owed vacation pay, is calculated correctly. A clean exit is as much a part of payroll as onboarding.
Do you handle year-end filings like T4s?
Yes. T4 and T4A preparation, filing, and distribution by the end-of-February deadline are part of the service. Because it is built through the year rather than reconstructed each spring, year-end stays organized.
How is payroll priced?
A flat monthly base fee plus a predictable per-employee fee — no hourly surprises. We set your bracket from your active headcount and your tracking setup, confirmed in a fixed-price proposal after our initial free discussion.
Do you work with businesses outside Calgary?
We are based in Calgary and work with employers across Calgary, Cochrane, Airdrie, Chestermere, Okotoks, and the surrounding area. Payroll runs on secure cloud systems, so location is not a barrier, and we meet on-site when it helps.
